Privacy policy
1. Who is responsible
CANSWEET INC., operating as CanSweet, is responsible for personal information handled in connection with cansweet.ca and our customer service. Our company leader is the person in charge of the protection of personal information. Send privacy questions, requests or complaints to store@cansweet.ca, addressed to the Privacy Officer. 2. What we collect and why
When you contact us, place an order or send a design, we collect the information you provide: your name and contact details; billing and delivery information; products and order details; images, artwork and personalization; and related messages. We use it to prepare and fulfil orders, arrange delivery or pickup, provide service and handle changes, refunds or claims. Payment providers process payment credentials; order records contain payment status and related transaction information.
Our website and its service providers also receive technical information such as your IP address, device and browser information, pages visited and interactions. Essential processing supports site operation, security and fraud prevention. Optional processing supports personalization, analytics and advertising, subject to the choices and consent required by law.
For customer-supplied creative materials, our Terms explain permitted use and how to state an exception when placing an order or sending materials. Photographs of people or of a personal or private nature, and products featuring them, require the relevant rights-holder’s consent for publication or advertising. Any personal information in creative materials remains subject to applicable privacy law.
3. Who receives information
Information is available to people working for CanSweet who need it for their responsibilities. We use service providers for our store and checkout, payment processing, order communications, delivery, website operation and security. They receive the information needed for their services. Information may also be disclosed when required or permitted by law, including to professional advisers or competent authorities.
Shopify hosts our store and processes visits, orders and related customer information. Shopify Network Intelligence can combine information from interactions with our store, other merchants and Shopify to provide enhanced services, including personalization, analytics and advertising. Shopify explains its own processing and privacy rights in its Consumer Privacy Policy and privacy portal.
Meta technologies are configured for advertising measurement and marketing. Their use of optional tracking is subject to applicable consent requirements and your choices. Visiting an external social-media site from our links also involves that service’s own privacy practices.

4. Processing outside your province or Canada
Shopify and other providers may store or process information outside your province, including outside Québec, and outside Canada. Laws in those locations can permit access by local authorities. CanSweet remains responsible for the information entrusted to its service providers and applies the safeguards and assessments required by applicable law.
5. Cookies and your choices
We and our partners, including Shopify, use cookies and similar technologies. Required technologies support essential site functions. Optional technologies support personalization, analytics and advertising. Where consent is required, you can accept, decline or choose categories in the cookie controls. Use “Cookie preferences” on the site to review or change those choices. Declining optional tracking does not prevent you from placing an order. Browser controls can also limit cookies, although blocking required cookies can affect site functions.
Privacy choices about Shopify’s own services can also be managed through its privacy portal. Consent to receive promotional messages is handled separately from essential order communications.
6. Retention and security
We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described here, including order fulfilment, customer service, claims, accounting and legal obligations. Retention depends on the record, its purpose and applicable requirements; designs and photographs are not automatically kept for a single universal period. Information no longer required is deleted or anonymized in accordance with applicable law.
We use safeguards appropriate to the information and restrict access according to responsibilities. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Contact us if you believe information connected with your order has been exposed or used improperly.
7. Your requests and children’s information
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to or correction of your information, withdraw consent, ask about retention or request deletion or a portable copy where that right applies. We may need to verify your identity and retain information required by law. We will explain applicable limits and respond within the time required by law. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec, as applicable.
A design can contain information about a child or another person. Only send such information if you are authorized to do so. Consent from a parent, guardian or other legally authorized person may be required. Order fulfilment does not itself authorize publication of personal photographs.
8. Updates
We will publish updated versions when our practices change and provide additional notice or obtain consent where required. A policy update does not, by itself, authorize a new use of personal information that requires consent. Contact store@cansweet.ca for help with this policy in English or French.
